MISSION STATEMENT
The purpose of the Bluefaced Leicester Breeders Association (BFLBA) is to promote the awareness and advancement
of knowledge of the Bluefaced Leicester sheep.
The BFLBA is dedicated to the preservation, development and expansion of the Bluefaced Leicester breed. Our goal is to involve purebred breeders, crossbred breeders, and terminal sire breeders in our association for the joint promotion and education of the attributes of the Bluefaced Leicester, both as a purebred sire and as a crossing sire for the production of commercial flock ewes for grass fed lamb.
We are committed to working with the Bluefaced Leicester Sheep Breeders Association
(BFLSBA) in the UK on common goals of breed health and genetic advancements, promotion & marketing, breed education, and to keeping
each association abreast of current events.
The BFLBA will strive to educate its members, fellow producers, and potential purchasers thru association meetings, sponsorship of sheep show classes, and by hosting educational displays and demonstrations. The BFLBA will provide its members and those interested with information on breed related topics, such as health, marketing, and current events. This information will be distributed via the Association newsletter ‘The Blue News’, email announcements, flyers & handouts, and through the Association's blog & website.
